On July 30, 2024, the Beddawi Center team organized a special cultural event within the context of the project “Provision of Food Security, Health, and Protection Services to 1000 Elderly Palestinian Refugees in Nahr Bared, Bedawi, Wavel, Burj Barajneh” to revive traditional Palestinian wedding customs with the elderly. The highlight of the event was a symbolic wedding for an elderly couple who, due to the war, were unable to hold a proper wedding ceremony when they married—fulfilling a long-held wish of theirs. The celebration featured traditional dabke, Palestinian folk songs, and cultural heritage displays. Additionally, historian Mr. Hussein Loubani shared captivating stories about Palestinian heritage and life before the Nakba, preserving memories and passing them on to younger generations.
