Empowered Community in Action (WASH)

The WASH project had a specific focus on enhancing refugees’ practices and behaviors regarding personal and menstrual hygiene in four camps: Nahr El Bared, Beddawi, Burj El Barajneh, and Ein El Hilweh. In addition to this, the project aimed to raise awareness about COVID-19 and Cholera prevention measures among the refugee population in these camps.

Target: Over 7,000 men and women in each governorate (Akkar, Tripoli, Mt Lebanon, South)

Location: Nahr El Bared, Beddawi, Burj El Barajneh, and Ein El Hilweh.

Outcomes

65 youths were provided with cash for work opportunities.
95% of school children demonstrated an improvement in hygiene practices.
