Target

The Elderly Project, implemented last year, aimed to enhance the wellbeing and reduce protection risks for marginalized Palestinian refugees aged 65 and above in Beddawi, Nahr El-Bared, and Wavel camps. Through home visits, health awareness sessions, psychosocial support, and recreational activities, the project addressed the physical and emotional needs of elderly individuals. It created a supportive environment that promoted dignity, reduced isolation, and strengthened community-based protection mechanisms.

Outcomes

Improved Wellbeing and Mental Health: Regular psychosocial support and recreational activities helped reduce loneliness, depression, and anxiety among elderly participants.
Enhanced Access to Services: Home visits and health awareness sessions improved the elderly’s knowledge of and access to medical care, hygiene practices, and social support systems.
